The well-known German sports equipment supplier UVEX recently set up its Shanghai representative office. Germany’s consul general in Shanghai Dr. Heyden and China’s first Winter Olympic gold medal winner, men’s aerial freestyle champion at Torino Olympics Han Xiaopeng attended the founding ceremony.

UVEX produces personal protective equipments in the categories of professional, sports and leisure. It cooperated with Chinese Skiing Association and became the equipment sponsor for China’s national ski team. Aside from the traditional winter sports products, the UVEX Shanghai office will also actively promote such sports products including motorcycle and bicycle.

“10 years ago, only 200 thousand people took part in winter sports in China. But today, almost 2 million people are winter sports lovers in China.” Said Mr. Winter, president of UVEX, “we have been attentive to China’s market. It is predicted that in a few years’ time China will surpass German and become world’s no.1 exporter. And Olympics and World Expo will bring new drive into the country.”
