The first outdoor insurance in China was introduced recently. Under the direction of the Chinese Mountaineering Association (CMA), Tai Ping Insurance Company and the China Sports insurance broker company have introduced the “special insurance for mountaineering and outdoor sports” jointly.

This “special insurance” offers not only insurance services for sports with relative low risks, such as walking-tour, camping, climbing in man-made climbing grounds, but also for sports with high risks such as high-mountain exploration, mountain skiing etc, provided that the insured outdoor clubs organize the activities in a good way.

The introduction of this unique insurance on the Chinese insurance market is of importance for the outdoor sports in China.
