2008 China outdoor retailing conference meets and again stimulates the outdoor retailing business
The 2008 China outdoor retailing conference jointly organized by ispo china and GORE-TEX® was successfully held on February 23.
 
This is the 4th edition of the CORC. Outdoor retailers of different sizes were invited but all shared some distinguishing attributes. Included in the attendees were special guests Sanfo Outdoor Equipment, Nanjing Bian Sai Yuan Jing, Xi’an Green Ants. Such subjects as supply chain selection and design were discussed.

Honored guests addressed the conference, they are:
Mr. Han YunGang, Vice Chairman of the outdoor products division of the China Textiles Association; Mr. Zhang Heng, Sanfo Outdoor Equipment General Manager; Mr. Pu Wei, Xi’an Green Ants Outdoor General Manager; Mr. Ethan Tang, Tecnica Group China; Mr. Luo XiPing, Hangzhou Feng Xue Outdoor Purchasing Director; Mr. David Matz, Grassroots Outdoor Association President; Mr. Yu Qin, Nanjing Bian Sai Yuan Jing General Manager and Mr. Rong HongZhang, Shenzhen Long Hao Shoes SKAP Brand Manager.
 
The “Year 2008 China Outdoor Product Study” was issued at the conference and issues related to outdoor store location selection, recruiting and training outdoor store staff were discussed. Many outdoor stores presented their product purchasing plans, in addition issues concerning outdoor retailer supply chain management, outdoor store layout and design and creating the proper atmosphere for outdoor retailing, outdoor retailing display methods and management, in all 7 themes were discussed and views were exchanged. At the evening reception, event organizers invited internationally recognized mountain climber Kelly Cordes of America who described his experiences in mountain climbing which added to the festive sense of the events.

Finally the conference decided to organize a donation and dedicated the proceeds from conference ticket sales to the production of environmentally friendly bags and will distribute these bag to the retail shops of the attendees. We hope that through the joint effort of the attendees the environmental spirit can be communicated even more effectively throughout the Outdoor industry.
